Community
Breakfast
The community breakfast's purpose is simple, to give the everyday
residents of Milpitas access to their civic leaders in and a
give and take exchange of ideas over a casual breakfast (usually
Bacon & Eggs and some fruit or veggies).
Unlike a meeting, there are no imposing podiums, no large
desk that separate citizen from official, or the pressure of
a time clock, just the average person sitting shoulder to shoulder
with their elected and civic leaders and talking about the issues
that concern them.
It's also a social occasion and a way to meet and make new
friends.
Elected and civic leaders do not come to hobnob with lobbyists
making large campaign donations; they come to hobnob with the
average citizen, to hear and to exchange current issues and concerns
of the everyday person.
Come meet with....
- City Council members
- School Board members
- City Commissioners
- Chamber of Commerce members
- Rotary and Lions Club members
- Police representatives
- and your next door neighbor
The breakfast has been held once a Month since 1964.
We have moved it to the First Saturday of Each Month, unless that is a holiday week end, and take
a summer break. Dress is casual, come in your PJs if you like.

Saturday, February 2, 2013
8 AM
Milpitas Black Caucus in association with Flame Keepers, will host this breakfast.
Topic: The event will be rich in culture, time-lines, and historical facts that weave the lives of folks commemorated during Black History Month with the lives of us all. This year's theme, "A Legacy of History", highlights those of this community who have benefited us all with their forward thinking and selfless acts. Our keynote speaker, Milan Balinton, is a graduate of San Jose State University and currently serving as President of the African American Community Center.
