Jose Esteves
I fought for fiscal responsibility in city government, ethical behavior of elected officials, and strong support of our educational responsibilities. After I left the City Council, I was disappointed to see the Council support raises for City employees, increases in water rates for Milpitas residents, and development of housing in the wrong areas of Milpitas.
Debbie Giordano
Good paying, quality jobs for Milpitas residents is one of the most important priorities over the next several years. Our children deserve to have a quality education that prepares them for higher education or the workforce. As Mayor, I will push for the Council to establish a budgeting process which projects out for at least 10 years the impact of the spending decisions we make today.
Pete McHugh
Our economy can't wait for State and Federal resources to recover. We must act now by making it easy for businesses to locate in our city. We also must help our small businesses to compete. Now is not the time to increase taxes. We must partner with the schools, and create after school programs so our kids have safe places to go.
Rob Means
As a candidate, I bring the progressive point of view to the ballot. My letters to the Post over the past several years present innovative, more sustainable ways to maintain the high quality of life we enjoy here in Milpitas.
Bill Ferguson
I am running for city council on three issues:
- End the corrupting influence of developer money in Milpitas politics.
- Do our part locally to protect the environment, including continuing the protection of our beautiful hillsides.
- Support our schools, by using redevelopment financing to fund a new school in the midtown area, as the Milpitas School District is requesting, as part of a long-term plan.
Armando Gomez, Jr.
I am running for re-election and invite you to join me as we work together on the next four years. I plan to work toward a safer, cleaner, and more accountable City that serves you.
Nancy Mendizabal
I'm running for City Council this November because I want to help build a better Milpitas. My thirty-six years of public service in the cities of San Jose and Milpitas, my experience in construction management and public works, and my demonstrated record of advocacy for our schools and our community, make me uniquely qualified to serve as our next Council Member.
Althea Polanski
It has been an honor serving Milpitas for eight years on the city council. Together we have built a new library and senior center on time and under budget. Quality of life remains a high priority with park improvements, increased businesses and jobs, strong public services; police, fire, recreation, and street maintenance.
Gary Roope and Robert Windisch
America's founding fathers envisioned regular citizens stepping up and running for elective office. In fact, they thought that was the only way government could be responsive to the needs of the citizens. Our founding fathers were right. Today's lifetime politicians have pretty well ignored the voices of the voters and run things for their own benefit, not in the interests of the citizens.

Carmen Montano
Carmen has served our community as a City Commissioner for Planning, Parks and Recreation, and the Library. She was a trustee for the Milpitas School District for 8 years. She believes a strong personal work ethic is important for both our children and our representatives.
