There is a newer version out now so if this is your childs last year in brownies, then it is something you must get, but if your child has two years to go in brownies then I reccommend waiting for the newer version which will be out very soon.
Junior Girl Scout Badgebook

If you have a daughter in Junior Girl Scouts, please purchase for her a personal copy of this book... even if her leader says she does not NEED it. If she does not have a copy of the book at home, earning badges will be much for difficult for her.

If you are trying to save money, get a used copy or do without a uniform. Besides a sash or vest to put earned badges, the handbook and badgebook are the most necessary objects a Junior Girl Scout needs to have to get the most out of the program.
