The Unschooling Handbook : How to Use the Whole World As Your Child's Classroom
The Unschooling Handbook : How to Use the Whole World As Your Child's Classroom

by Mary Griffith
Unschooling, a homeschooling method based on the belief that kids learn best when allowed to pursue their natural curiosities and interests, is practiced by 10 to 15 percent of the estimated 1.5 million homeschoolers in the United States.

Oklahoma Homeschooling

Welcome to A to Z Home's Cool Oklahoma Homeschool page. Oklahoma is the only state in the U.S. where the right to homeschool is provided for in its constitution. This makes homeschooling in Oklahoma very easy and unregulated. Although school officials occasionally sends out notices requiring notification, this is not the law and is not recommended. All you are required to do is keep track of 180 days of school, teach the basics (reading, writing, math, science, citizenship, U.S. constitution, health, safety, physical education, conservation), and enjoy! One of several good contacts about homeschooling in Oklahoma is Cindy Downes at Oklahoma Homeschool. Others are in the links below. [Note: you may contact Cindy about Oklahoma Homeschooling concerns. Contact Ann Zeise, the webmaster, about general homeschooling concerns through the "Contact" link at the bottom of this page.]
