Austin & Hill Country Support Groups

Please note: I do not live in Texas, and am doing the best I can to place support groups in appropriate geographical regions or near the nearest large city. If you feel I have erred greatly, please use the contact link at the bottom of this page to correct any errors. Here's a map of Texas that I'm using.

Austin

Annunciation - Austin
We are a Catholic homeschooling cooperative that offers classes twice a week at a local Catholic church and regular expert family consultations for homeschoolers. Located in Austin.

Austin Area Home School Sports
An association of home school parents providing excellence in competitive home school sports for students from elementary through high school. Football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer, golf, and track are among sports offered.

Austin Area Homeschoolers
A network of families who homeschool or are exploring the possibility. Up-to-date calendar included.

Austin Area Homeschoolers Newcomers' Guide

MidTex Inclusive Homeschoolers
This is an inclusive support group for homeschooling families in Bell County. All faiths, creeds, beliefs and homeschooling styles are welcome. Yahoo Group.

Smoothing the Way
A support group in Texas which is dedicated to serving first-year homeschooling mothers. Each month a topic of specific interest to the new homeschooler is offered. Meetings in Austin and San Antonio monthly.

Bastrop County

Bastrop Christian Home School Association
A group of families with Christian beliefs who come together to fellowship, encourage and support each other.

Bastrop County Homeschoolers
We welcome all homeschooling families in Bastrop County to this list. There are no religious requirements in order to join. There are no requirements of other memberships in order to join.

Brazos Valley

Alternative Educators' Alliance
AEA welcomes all home educators, regardless of race, creed, religion or educational philosophy. Meets in Brazos Valley.

Brazos Area Homeschool Association
An umbrella group for homeschoolers in the Brenham, Bryan, Caldwell, College Station, Navasota and Robertson Country areas.   Open to all homeschoolers, this new non-profit association welcomes diversity and sponsors local events such as the Geo Bee, Science Fair, and homeschool seminars.

Located deep in the heart of Texas, this Christ centered group provides fellowship and moral support for families striving to teach their chidren at home.

Christian Home Educators Support System
We are a group of more than 100 families who have chosen to homeschool our children for a variety of reasons. Our members come from within an approximate 50-mile radius of the Fort Hood Army Installation, including Killeen, Fort Hood, Harker Heights, Gatesville, Kempner, Lampasas, and Copperas Cove.

Georgetown Christian Home Educators
GCHE is a very active group, with activities including, but not limited to, Monthly Moms' meetings, a variety of field trips, Teen Nights, PE on Fridays, holiday parties and Teen Bowling League.

Hill Country/Central

Boerne Area Christian Homeschoolers
BACH is a Christ-centered support group that uses the Bible to provide the basis and standard of truth and values.

Christian Home-school Association Representing Independent Schoolers of Canyon Lake
CHARIS is a Christian Homeschool organization to provide support and encourage home educators in the Canyon Lake and northern Comal County areas of Texas.

Greater Waco Christian Home Educators
We are a volunteer Christian support group dedicated to helping families who have chosen to educate their children at home.

Hill Country Christian Homeschoolers
HCCH is a Christian organization established to provide support, education, and fellowship for local homeschooling families who are striving to train up their children in the Lord.

Hill County Home Educators
